COMPROMISO DE VOTAR

Whatever our politics, most of us want the same thing from our schools: kids who can read well, write clearly and do math with confidence. That is why I am voting Yes on 5B.

Ballot Issue 5B gives us an opportunity to invest in the local schools while keeping our tax dollars within the community. Those funds would help provide our children with the tools and support they need to succeed by retaining and recruiting educators, strengthening academic instruction, maintaining access to mental-health professionals and restoring programs such as art, music, and physical education. These investments would benefit us all. I encourage you to learn more about Ballot Issue 5B and consider what voting “Yes” in November could mean for our students, families, schools and the future of Eagle County.

On behalf of the Eagle County Education Association, I would like to thank the Eagle County school board for placing the mill levy override question on the ballot this November.

At the Education Foundation of Eagle County, we see your generosity at work through the gifts and support we are able to give via classroom grants, scholarships, educator recognition and school support staff. We are deeply grateful. We also know philanthropy cannot replace reliable public funding.

That is why EFEC supports and is the campaign hub for “yes” on 5B.

Our children may be the ones sitting in the classrooms, but the benefits of a strong public education reach far beyond the school walls. It touches families, employers, neighborhoods and the future of our entire community. Putting 5B on the ballot gives our community a choice. I voted to give voters that choice. And as a voter, I will vote “yes.”

I am grateful for what our schools have given my family. Now it is our turn to show up for them. I am voting “yes” on 5B. I am willing to pay the $11 a month two coffees!) per million of property value to give our students and educators the supports they need and deserve.

VVP also supports Eagle County School District ballot question 5B, a mill levy override focused on attracting and retaining high-quality teachers and support staff, strengthening reading, writing, and math instruction, restoring art, music, and physical education, and maintaining student access to mental health professionals.
